MEGAN HEADER! =D

now now people. before you all bash on me for getting this header, allow me to explain. i did my research on this header. i know it doesnt give that much pwer gains and it is basically a stock replacement. but i my budget was very limited so i got header. i got it installed earlier today. ive gotta say that im somewhat impressed by it. it does have its power. (obviously, not mugen, bisimoto, etc.) but for those of you who are on a budget and want a header that can give you a little more power then its perfect for you. i have no regrets and i gotta say im happy with it.

The only thing that header did was ad a little "Bling" to your engine bay.

Even if it did raise any hp it would be like 1-3 hp difference and that is not noticable.

Stock is your best bet. Should have just heat wrapped it and treated it with a nice high heat paint.

I also personally would put your stock intake box back on because right now that cone is sucking up all the hot air in your engine bay. Your stock air box was at least getting cooler air. Put your stock air box back on and put a k&n replacement filter in it or get a good true cold air/short ram. I know the spectra might sound pretty and all but Function > Form.

Personally if you are going to play with cheap parts I wouldn't play at all.

I have seen guys with completely stock cars out run cars with h/i/e plenty of times just because they are doing it wrong and it puts them back a few steps.

Just my $ 0.02

honesty man i dont think your gaining as much as u think u are unless u have the exhaust to go with that intake and header..and if anything your better off running a cold air intake because all the heat from the engine and that cheap crap u bought are givin off all the heat i mean not only are u losing more low end power its getting hotter so if i were u i would get that header wrap they make to contain as much heat as possible..you prob woulda been better with a ceramic coated dc header so u wouldnt have to worry about the heat thing ands its not much more expensive..the only thing u maybe haveis the motor breathing better, if the inlet size is bigger ok maybe a couple ponies but losing more low end, your not gaining like they say on the advertisement...if the inlet size were to be smaller or the same as stuck u will lose that gain of power or maybe even stay the same

butt-dynos are often misleading


thin-walled metal and bad welds FTL!! the downpipe bracket is most likely gonna fall off the first speed bump you go over.

Okay there this megan header, my buddy on his 2000 prelude hit 9 whp gain with his megan racing header. Yes call it BS or whatever you want but ive seen the dyno chart. Plus im not on this forum to BS anyone. He is on this site as well. I believe his name is charpy0s i think. But ya 9 whp. i called BS until i saw the dyno sheet myself. Although this car is putting out power that no one knows where its coming from. But i put the same header on my car. I noticed a small increase.

I think it's illegal though, attracts more attention than if you just didn't rock one at all.

it is illegal in cali. if you've been issued two plates, one must be in the rear, and one must be in the front. they have very specific locations where the plates must be placed too.

if you've been issued one plate, then it must be in the rear; again meeting the location requirements.

so you put the two together, and you end up where djp is: you're better off just take it out completely. if you run into a cop who's a prick, you'll get pulled over for that.

cuz i myself have personally wasted my hard-earned money on 2 sets of these POS's, both of which more or less fell apart after ~5,000 miles.

but the quality of the weld, bending probably wouldn't be the same and in the end of the day you wasn't money on a bended pipes that never made power but instead lost power and turned out looking ugly cause of how crappy of a weld they did.

I am considering this header as well as megan strut bars. Is this a terrible idea? I have only heard decent things about megan's quality. I would also consider megan's exhaust. You have to admit they are priced really well. I geuss that might be a forwarning on their quality.

i have a megan front strut bar, it came with the car, otherwise waste of time and money and doesnt do anything. best would be to get a neuspeed but even still if you really wanna stiffen up your car you go with seat pillar bars and other things among the like, maybe a 3 point strut bar and crossmembers.

Stock is your best bet. Should have just heat wrapped it and treated it with a nice high heat paint.

I also heard good reviews about megans cat back exhaust. everything else like the header, strut bars and coilovers were all mixed. but I heard that the catback exhaust has a good sound and has good quality.
