Icon14 iVTEC on H22???

Ok. So I was reading the latest issue of Import Tuner and I came across an article on a S2000 that had iVTEC in it that was makin an extra 99 HP and 130 TQ at 4,000 RPM than stock. Is it possible to have iVTEC on a H22? any suggestions? Thanks.

if you feel like completely re-engineering the H22, go for it!

Re: iVTEC on H22???

Ew, grand forks, ND. Don't you just hate it there?

I spent a few days there and went insane.

Anyway, please if you can find the artical of this s2000 send us a link here but I could not find it on the Import Tuner site and they usually keep their articals up to date. I feel like you are mistaken on what was read. I see no way that someone turned an f20/22 engine into an ivtec engine unless the k series heads are interchangeable and it is believed they are not but no one has really tried, at least not to my knowledge. The chain drives are differen the sprockets are different... it would just be a lot of custom fabrication that would be pointless. Either way, in no way would making the car ivtec increase power by the amount you stated.

To your main question, in reality... making your h22 and ivtec engine is impossible. You would literally have to redesign and entire new engine and just call it an h22. Now, you can however replace your h22 with a k24/20 or even the k23 out of an rdx if you want some real acknowledgement.

Actually, I know what hes talkin about. I cant remember exactly which magazine it was but I do remember seeing that. Im not quite sure if the 90+ hp is true but I did read about it. I think the guy said he poseted up a thread about it on another forum(honda-tech maybe??) and everybody kinda talked down 2 him. but when he posted the thread he was already in the process of converting the s2k motor 2 ivtec. U mite wanna check out super street and modified mags websites too. Cos im not sure which one i seen it in but i know I did see it

Just a brief summary of what is going on.

The hp and ft-lb gains that are in the artical are based on a basically fully built turbo engine that is bored out to a 2.4.

They have yet to dyno or install on a stock engine. They would expect maybe 1/3 of that gain on a naturally aspirated engine.

Now, once again though. Do not expect to be able to do something like this with an h22, the engines are not even close to the same design.

Ya there isn't much to do but work, party, and work on cars. Maybe a little school every once in a while. Me and a buddy are thinkin of moving to SoCal or Denver. Get out of here. But for the S2000 with the iVTEC, it was in the latest issue of Import Tuner (I think DEC. 09) with the worlds fastest Supra on the cover. Thanks for the input.
