10w-30 Penzoil

Ok, so I just picked up 5 quarts of Penzoil Platinum. The lady at the store recommended me getting 10w-30 over 5w-30 because my engine has about 120k miles on it, is it better to get 10w-30 if my car has high mileage? Also, are Penzoil Platinum any good? Suggestions and Experience with using Penzoil would be nice. Thanks.

Re: 10w-30 Penzoil

I use pennzoil all the time in my car 10w-30 and i havent had any issues. my car is at 87k so i use the high mileage. My father was a mechanic is told me to use the 10w over the 5w. so i would deff use the 10w. and about if the platinum is any good. i say so. ive been using pennzoil for 1 year now. its a good price for it at walmart and my father and many others told me it was great. hoped this helped

Use 5w30 if you live in an area with very low temps. It only gets down to about 10-15 degrees here in new mexico at its coldest and my car sleeps in a garage, but I still only use 5w30 Mobil 1. I have 99k miles btw. Besides it even says 5w30 on the OEM oil filler cap.

Re: 10w-30 Penzoil

The only reason I used 10W30 on my last oil change is because last time I checked, Florida doesn't get that cold.
