you should understand that he reads many posts daily and provides most of teh good answers here. when you post in a font that makes what he does more difficult, you suck. when you post a question that has already been answered this reinforces the suckiness.

long story short, use the search and if you have an issue that has not been addressed then express that you tried to search. and just use normal font. if you follow those simple rules you will get less resistance to the answers you seek.

Re: 5th gen power folding mirrors help

it may not be 100% exactly the same, but if your doing this yourself i'm assuming you have a lil bit of common sense (you'd be amazedddd at how many poeple lack this nowadays ) so you'll be able to figure out the differences, if any.

also where in jerz are ya?

Point proven lol.

Since it hasn't been done on a 5th gen, take pics and make a writeup when you install, just a suggestion.

also. Pics are a must lol, and last but not least welcome to PZ. spend enough time hear and you realize there really are a lot less assholes here than other places. enjoy your stay.

Re: 5th gen power folding mirrors help

When I bought my PF mirrors, they didnt come with the correct relay or switch. So the wiring on the switch and relay were different than what is shown in the DIY link. Using multiple alligator clip wires, I test conected the mirrors in several different setups until I finally got them to work. After that, I wrote down all the connects I needed to make and soldered it all together.

So the point of all that babble, is that if you find your wires to be a different color than what is listed in the DIY... test your wiring first because its a pain to tear everything apart again.

*also... make sure you insulate all your connections as well. (ie: heat shrink tube or electrical tape) Otherwise after a few bumps, you might short the connections and have to change fuses all the time

Re: 5th gen power folding mirrors help

i installed pf mirrors on my 5th gen lude and the wire colours were different, plus i never had a relay so instead what i did was check the wires first then solder them in. you will probably find that 3 wires do the same thing, move up, down, left / right. The other two will fold the mirrors in and out. if you cant get the relay to work you may need to use a reverse polarity switch and install it somewhere in the car. but its not easy and most likely you will need an electrician who knows what he is doing.
ive got a pic of it on my members ride page, its not much help but you can see the three wires that need to be soldered in and the two that are for the pf function

Re: 5th gen power folding mirrors help

People wire them into their alarm. Lock car, mirrors fold, unlock car, mirrors fold back. Would depend on the alarm system I guess. More useful that way I guess to stop people hitting them when you park. Although I believe since they are RHD that with LHD vehicles the side facing the road folds back less, so less useful.
