Door trigger

Hey all, It's been a while since I been around...

I was installing my doorsills the other day that LilMsPrelude made, and out of my own stupidity I think I screwed up my door trigger. I didn't have the circuit grounded well enough (I didn't scrape away the paint where I had it grounded) and as soon as I tapped into the drivers door trigger wire (Green) it sparked and smoked. So now what happens is when I open my door, the dome light doesn't come on, the door ajar light in the dash doesn't turn on, I can still roll the windows up/down, etc, etc. Basically it thinks my drivers door is always closed.

I checked out helms (23-97 iirc), and it said to check fuse 46 under the hood (clock/radio) and that was fine. It also mentioned that something in the muliplexor unit could be wrong, I heard a slight buzzing/beep-ish noise coming from that area, but its not happening anymore.

Should I go ahead and buy a new door trigger and install that? Or could something else be the culprit?

Re: Door trigger

hmmmm. Well, I haven't read the install instructions on those but Im pretty sure that there is a - door pin wire (white/black) at the fuse panel .

First thing when there is funky stuff going on check ALL fuses with a meter. Make sure there is a consistant voltage. You may have a burned fuse (isn't quite blown apart, still making contact) and that can be little enough voltage to turn on a test light or other basic equipment but not be enough for the actual equipment to work.

OneRedLude, can you tell me the position of the "door trigger" wire? I couldn't find it. -.-

Re: Door trigger

You have to pull back either the door sill or the plastic part by the seatbelt. Iirc its a green wire.
