compression question

so i checked my compression yesterday. the results were cylinder 1: 190, cylinder 2: 195, cylinder 3: 185, and cylinder 4: 220ish.

now, i've read in places that its "bad" to have compression that is this inconsistent. to be honest, i don't see how it would be at all, but then again i don't know everything about this sorta thing. sorry if this is a dumn/noobish question but are these numbers bad??

Re: compression question

lemme ask you this: which would you feel more comfortable with?

1) 190-190-60-190psi
or
2) 160-160-160-160psi

for compression tests, its better to have all the cylinders to be consistent, between 10-15% of each other, which shows all rings/valves/seals are wearing evenly and that nothing major is wrong with the engine, like detonating or w/e.

as opposed to just shooting for the highest result possible (#1). plenty of things affect/effect your engines compression, such as altitude, so no two engines will have the same exact results. two identical H22's wont have the same results, cuz one of them could have a shiitload of carbon buildup on the piston which would raise the compression, so its factors like that that skew the reading, which is why consistency is better.

your results aren't BAD, but they're not great either. if you take care of your engine then it should last you awhile. but if you were planning on boosting that engine stock..... i'd reconsider.
