5th gen mirrors

Does anyone know if Honda produces Heated powerfolding mirrors for the 5th gen prelude? I have been looking and found a set for the BA5(3rd) gen, but want to know if they make them for the 5th gen. If they do, the button woud be in the center of the directional pad. a pic is included.

Re: 5th gen mirrors

Heated mirrors were exclusive to designated cold climate areas. Canada was one, so was north (but not south) Japan.

As stated above, I don't think you could have both, it was an either/or decision. (Well I've never heard of anybody having both)

You could get heated mirrors on the last run of models in the UK from about 1999 onwards. Very few cars about with them fitted though tbh.

Re: 5th gen mirrors

Its possible to modify the folding mirrors to have heat too, but you will require an addition switch/button somewhere. The heated mirrors and powerfolding mirrors both use the same button location on the mirror adjusting switch.

So you would need to pick which one you want to work with the OEM switch, and then add your own switch for the other.

Re: 5th gen mirrors

I'm currently getting moving on doing the heated mirrors. I got some heater pads for the mirror glass off of ebay from a guy in Poland. Here's a link, UNIVERSAL MIRROR GLASS DEFOGGER - HEAT GRID MATS - eBay (item 130453705154 end time Dec-10-10 11:37:22 PST)
They stick to the back of the glass.
And for the switch i'm planning on using a stock switch from a 99-03 Acura CL/TL. It looks like the switch will fit stock right into the door and there's a button for the mirror defrosters paired up with the mirror switch.
I don't have power folding mirrors, but it doesn't seem like a stretch to add the heater pads and a few wires to them.
Edit*and from what i hear you just need a 2pin connector to plug in for the defroster button. I'm trying to just find the harness that plugs into it to make things easier.
