Icon5 Major problem or something minor?

well to make a long story short.
me and my friend and a few more friends were drinking.
then everyone started leaving.
we hop in my friends prelude(he has a green sh(not like it matters lol)).
we drive for about 2-5 miles max but he had his ebrake (all the way clicked).
i tell him "hey wtf, smells hella weird in here like burned rubber"
so i tell him stop and i hop out the car to see what it was and his rear brake disk thingy were literally orange redish like a lit cigarette.
he starts flipping out and i was like wtf thats crazy i've never saw brakes like that lol. so he tells me to help him out like i have an idea of what to do in the first place lol.

so we wait till it cools down and he drops me off home and he tells me to ask someone what could have happen or whats the worse and blah blah(bout the brakes and stuff). so i decided to ask around here since i have no clue about what to tell him and i'll just give him this link so he can read it.

Re: Major problem or something minor?

the worst is he needs new rotors, pads, and MAYBE calipers. only on the rear tho. he simply drove w/ the ebrake on, meaning the pads were squeezing the rotor the entire time, causing insaneeeeeeee amounts of friction, resulting in the rotor becoming glowing red hot, most popularly seen with road race cars

Re: Major problem or something minor?

The burning of brakes really doesn't smell similar to rubber burning...

Lesson learned: Don't drink and drive. Unless your friend is just a straight up dumbass and left the e-brake up.

^2x... you all really couldn't figure this out yourself?

I mean... leaving the e-brake on... wtf do you think is going to happen?

Re: Major problem or something minor?

nice pics twokexlv6coupe!!
I tend to notice pretty quick if i forget to put the e-brake down..either you can feel the car pull down and its abnormally hard to start moving or sometimes the car will stall out before i get going..oops!! lol "well that was smooth!"
