6spd and ATTS upgrade?

Does anyone here know of or ever hear of swapping a 6spd tranny into a 5th gen (give it that extra gear on top to let it chill out on the highway)?

How about upgrades to the ATTS system to beef it up so it can handle more that 250 WHP?

Sorry. There is no 6speed Tranny Swap. And No.. you cant add a extra gear to the gear box. Some company does however makes a 6 speed tranny for the prelude. Its about $9000. And The 6speed does not let the car CHILL OUT on the highway. Because all they did was make all the gears really short. The 6th is still high revving like your 5th.

The only way to get a 6th speed tranny in your car is to do a complete K series Motor swap. K24 seems to work well now.

Word.
It's more money than it's worth. Also keep in mind the K24 is rated at 166 hp. You'll need some work to get it back to stock H22 level. If you drive right, the 5 spd outta still get decent mileage. Just set the cruise on the highway or just don't go so fast.

You can surely rebuild your transmission and adjust the 5th gear ratio if you dont like how it "cruises" on the highway...$$$$

as for ATTS, if you have it, enjoy it. It's for the long twisties, S turns and it can do things Civics and "other" cars cant do.

Well.. If he's in the US of A. The TSX has more horses then the accord.
And If he is any where else. The Accord has more horses then The Us Accords. So either way. They are the same car. TSX Motor all the way. Or NON US ACCORD MOTORS.. lol

Yeah I guess I was.
In that case, it's a diffrent story when we talk about the TSX and everywhere else but America Accord.
Acura is going on sale in Japan. I forget when, I think 08, correct me on that though.
I wonder if they'll sell the TSX and American Accord or what they'll do with that.

I meant under the Acura badge. Lexus and Infiniti are already sold over there so Honda decided to start selling Acura.

ps- I DO NOT BELIEVE IN K- SERIES. one of the best motors honda ever built was the B, C, D, F and H series. Intellegint Vtec... only for gas miles...... and u could always have H24. and have more torque :-)

Hey Buddy. The atts make you handle alot better. It works. And For the H23 Tranny. Go do some homework. 3rd, 4th, and 5th, gears in both the H23 and H22 Trannys have the same gear ratio. Only first and second was changed to stay in Vtec range.

So basicly. If he got a h23 tranny. His car would be slower and use the same amount of gas on the highway with the same rev.

Omahgush ! I haven't been on here in awhile and I log on to read this foolishness again?

Why does he or she need a h23 tranny when he has a h22 tranny already? Please explain... From reading the first few threads on here I see that a lot people have given up on you. So please elaborate a little bit for us so we can get an understanding that it seems EVERYBODY on this forum is lacking.

Now for your less money less headache comment....

Do you know what it would cost to switch a sh to a base when speaking of changing transmissions? you need to change a hell of a lot more than a damn transmission. I won't get into it with you guy. Because it seems you know everything when in reality you know nothing.

lol ur dumb ass hell. h23 have the longer gears than any h22 tranny moron. 4th gear ends at 110 on h22 tranny and for the h23 tranny about 130+ moron.. go do some homework.

everyone- b16 and H22 have almost same gear ratio except the final drive.
u should go do some hw.

buddy to change h22 tranny to h23 tranny is not that hard. when u put new clutch in... just put h23 tranny in instead of puttin original h22 tranny. thats it.

most of in this fourm really dont know about their preludes. now where admin.

one questions to rory.... which gears are longer the usdm h22? or jdmh22 tranny???
oh also... u seen worlds fastest prelude???? i believe he ran 10.9. and wat kind of tranny does he use???? and do u need close gear ratio for boostin or longer gear for boosting?????? just tell those answers. i dont think u know any stuff about turbo mods. rory.

try getting any of those motors to put out the power of a k20. I love the h22, but you are talking out of your ass. Its called bias, and its strong with you.

not to mention that stock k series heads flow like ported b, h heads.

Opinion is the medium between knowledge and ignorance.

I'm an H-series guy myself but I show props to the K-series with Hondata K-Pro... Thats where you manipulate the "intelligent vtec" for more HP, its not ONLY for gas miles.

to put a different tranny on a type SH is not that simple trust me on that. If that's hard for you to believe maybe you should buy a type sh and change the tranny to a h23 tranny and see if it's a direct swap. Your going to be in for a few surprises.

anyone thats actually thought about getting a 6spd in a lude has already done the homework and figgured all this **** out. all i was wondering was if there was a company that produced a product that would beef up an atts, or fit a 6spd tranny to an h22. i don't car about motor swaps. if i wanted a k20 i wouldn't have bought a prelude. if i wanted an lsd i wouln't have gone out of my way for a type sh. i have what i want. i just want to make it better.

well i dont believe there is much for the atts system. But there is no 6 speed to help. and the h23 will not help also. I dont know know much about beefing the atts up. But i would be glad to ask the guys over here that work on preludes alot. They may know something.
