damn that sux. just FYI, you're supposed to have the timing belt and balancer belt replaced every 90,000 miles. Maybe that's what happened.

Re: where what happened to my timing Belt

actually ..what happens is the tbelt tensioner usually fails at high miles. that usually cause the belt to slip or split... i just hope you weren't driving when this happened. you could have bent a valve or a couple of valves. get new belt...and do a compression test and see what you got...

Yeah I was driving, I was at 3500 rpms in 3rd gear with my foot on the cluctch ready to shift to 4th.

I did buy a new timing from honda and turned the engine by hand, and it sounds good, when I timing brook it broke the crank sensor, so I just got that in, I ll put it in and fully try to turn the engine on see what happens.

what do you mean by fails at high speeds?

Re: where what happened to my timing Belt

it looks like a defective belt or a foreign object got in thair.
happened to my girls car a few months back, looked exactly the same, new belt and all.

i think i said high mileage. the auto tensioner usually go bad after awhile. others could be right about foreign object... but how would get in there ...do you have cover on your tbelt... ?

Re: where what happened to my timing Belt

i would just replace it. it may work fine while testing it.... but fail under tension and vibration of the motor. its a part that if i were you i wouldn't take another chance w/ it. i would do the h23 manual tensioner swap if i were you.

thank you so much because I was just about to put a new belt in and that would of been it.

Re: where what happened to my timing Belt

manual tensioner conversion! worth every penny....
http://www.preludepower.com/forums/s...d.php?t=229140

my wife did not have (i should say i did not) have the upper cover on her timing cover.
it was an old non interfeareance engine, was never concerned about it.

I think this is the culprit.
The part should cost about $125.
