List of problems, related or unrelated?

My radio has a bad buzz, when the car is off i can listen to the radio fine just very slight buzzing when the car is on it sounds like a supercharger. Sounds like a ground to me.

RPM Purge. When the car is started sometimes usually when its cold but has happened before when it was warm. When i stop (clutch engaged) the rpm's will go from about 1000 to 1800-2200. When it happens each jump is consistant and to the same rpm though.

Hesitation, in the low rpm I'm getting hesitation. Go to take off lugs for a second then picks back up.

From what I have seen these can all be related to alternator not making enough power so I went to autozone and got it checked. The man said it was still working but making the least amount of power possible. So i brought the alternator to a man that rebuilds them and he cannot find anything wrong. Like i said above these could be related or totally unrelated but any input would be appreciated.

Re: List of problems, related or unrelated?

^^

I would definately replace the alt if it's just making enough power. Also check and clean your grounds. The buzz your hearing can be caused by arcing of a ground or any aftermarket electronics that aren't powered up when your key is in accessory mode.

Yea well I even switched the ground on my amp (powering all speakers) and it continued, im thinking it could be the ground to the radio.

I have the same thing but it only happens when I'm charging my Iphone and playing tracks off of it with the AUX wire connected.

When I have only the AUX wire connected or the Iphone charger connected then there's no "supercharger" sound!!!

Re: List of problems, related or unrelated?

As far as your hesitation and rpm fluctuation, it sounds to me like one of 4 things:
FITV
IACV
EGR valve/ports
or air in your coolant lines

Those are the most common culprits of the fluctuating idle, with the EGR being a common cause for the hesitation around 3k rpm.

So what eventually fixed the idle problem?

Also, the whole whiney radio thing sounds like a short to ground somewhere.
