Thinking of selling the 'lude

So, I have been thinking about selling the lude(01 EBP 5spd 82k). Since I bought the car in July,07; I have put in 2 clutches & flywheels, new tires, 4 headlights, new carbon synchros(they work), and a couple other things. I have bought numerous other things for it: interior LEDs, JDM SiR Red interior, CF overlay gas door, CF overlay center console, CF overlay armrest. I have spent almost. I am torn on what to do because, I am in love with 2 different cars, but can only afford one. My other love is a 2003 Nissan Maxima Se 6 speed. I am unable to decide what to do, but hoping since thew lude will be back soon, I think I will stay with it. Want to know what everyone thinks. HELP!

Re: Thinking of selling the 'lude

The prelude is a high-performance vehicle. The TCO (total cost of ownership) will likely be a good deal higher than that Nissan of yours (especially burning thru clutches like u do). But if you can only afford one you will probably get more for you money selling the Nissan because all that stuff you put into the lude you wont re-coup all your investment. To make an educated decision I would need more info on your Nissan such as mileage and anything aftermarket on it. If it is stock then you will have an easier time selling it.

Re: Thinking of selling the 'lude

I would keep the Lude bc it's rare and will turn heads especially when it's a EBP and not common like all the 2545218458616287256 Maximas out there!!! Even if you MOD the maxima...it wont turn much heads like a Lude will!!!

Maxima = Nice car!!!
Preludezone--> <--mysticskyline

Prelude = Oh wow!!! That's fukkin sexy!!!
Preludezone--> <--mysticskyline

I think you get my point!!!

really? an 03 maxima? If it was the brand new one then I think that could justify selling the lude but come on. Lude it for Life!

I always get alot of looks from people around town. At my college, people have said,"OH, you drive that prelude?" I'm sorry, but have you ever heard anybody complement a maxima owner? Preludes are dead sexy and you know it.

Rock the prelude

You're comparing two totally different cars - a luxury sports car vs a mid range family car.

Decide what you need the car for, then go from there.

Re: Thinking of selling the 'lude

I forgot to mention(my bad) that I don't own a maxima. I am looking at buying one. The reason I am thinking of selling the lude is because I need a car that I can haul people with. My girl and I enjoy taking people with us when we go somewhere, but when I have just my lude, they decide not to go. I have not been burning through clutches. We(GF father and g'pa) have come to discover, that the mechanic who put in the first clutch, left a black handled 2 inch philips head screwdriver in the transmission. We know this, because they only use craftsman. But, that is not enough evidence to sue them over, and I don't have the money to sue either. More than anything, I would love to keep the lude, but I need something to haul poeple in. I hate letting my GF drive(control Freak), even though she has a maxima(99). Not to be a hater, but honda needs to put a 6 speed in a four door accord(civic si is ugly). That is the only way I would buy another honda or if I could find a CB7/9 accord wagon EX in arcadia green pearl(5 speed). If i didn't need space or money was no object, I would buy an NSX or S2K. I work for honda and know for a fact they don't make a 6spd accord 4 door(unless custom).

Re: Thinking of selling the 'lude

So we've established that you need four doors. Why does it hafta be a maxima? There's a bunch of nice(er) cars around that meet that criteria that are far better (IMHO) than the maxima. Like Runtingz said, the TSX is a fantastic car. My mate has one (6spd) and that thing feels very similar to the Prelude when driving it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the TSX still feels like a car, whereas many mid size sedans I've driven don't, they just bounce and float along.

But to me mate, it sounds like you've already made up your mind. All the best in your Prelude-less future.

Re: Thinking of selling the 'lude

**** A MAXIMA........

those cars POS..... my buddy is a Nissian lover he currently owns a turbo 240sx, twin turbo 300zx, old sentra sr20 turbo and he is a certified Master Nissan tech and he says he would never buy a newer max or altima he said they are JUNK.

if u need four doors id say get a TSX much closer feeling to the Prelude and with some bolt ons they can be quick. but there are so many other 4 door cars that are a better options than a maxima.
Personally id get a Caddilac CTS if you want a dope ass four door car for around the same money as a Maxima
