Timing 01 prelude

Okay this may sound dumb but may also solve my question with your guys and gals responses. But can you adjust the distributor timing on an H22A4 01 prelude engine? Also if you can, there are three bolts that are holding the distributor in place. 2 top ones and one lower. the two top bolt hole that the bolts go into are wider so you can slide the distributor slightly. Not sure if im explaining this good enough but my second question is, are all three holes on the distributor the same or is the bottom one an exact fit to allow to play making it different from the top two?

Re: Timing 01 prelude

okay ... on an h22a4 OBD2 motor you moving the distributor will do NOTHING. only obd1 distributors can you adjust ignition timing. the reason why is that your obd2 computer in the car will adjust timing accordingly. now if you have a chipped obd1 computer in your car then yea you can change the ignition timing. by the way ... the three bolts are all twelve mm and the bottom is a direct fit/alignment so it can't be moved... since its obd2 you cant move it because it will not do anything anyways.

Re: Timing 01 prelude

thats probly b.c ur ecu is tuned or set to a certain timing due to being chipped.. now it is possible to change timing on an obd2 car but that is irrelevant b.c u are running s300.

but fyi there is a diagnostic port under the hood along with the one inside of obd2 cars for setting timing if needed. it requires jumping two ports with a wire kinda like checking an obd1 check engine light.
