Re: JDM & FAKE foglight

Ok, the difference is subtle.

I am going to post a picture of each.

If you look closely you can see the difference... I highlighted it inside of a red box so you can spot it more easily.

First up, JDM:

Now, knockoff:

Hope this helped.

Your replicas melted on their own? I find that hard to believe unless you stuck HIDs in there.

Lol I know, I was just being a smart ass

As far as the quality of the replicas go, I'm sure they aren't great, but at 50 dollars a pop, i wouldn't feel so bad if they melt lol. I just can't justify spending over 200 dollars on something that is just cosmetic... I guess if you are a true JDM buff then it is worth it, but to me as long as it looks the same I'm alright with it.

You aren't the first person I've heard say that they melted though, but you are the first non-HID person I've heard say they melted.

I've been running yellow replicas for about 5 months now with zero issues.

Were the bulbs 55w or 35w? It looks like most people who have the melting problem were running 55w bulbs. It looks like some of the earlier batches shipped with 55w bulbs but the later ones shipped with 35w.

Re: JDM & FAKE foglight

3000K yellow HID should be fine from what I was told!!! But I love JDM!!!

The setup I did was having the JDM fogs with the Yellow Lamin-X and 3000K yellow HID!!! That's how I got it to be that nice Yellow touch. Although I'm curious to find out if I can finalize it by getting the yellow capsules to make it have that golden yellow look?!?!

Re: JDM & FAKE foglight

i suggest getting the real ones, but personally ive had my replicas since march and use them everyday. i have a remote start and they run when my car starts along with whenever i use my headlights. i've yet to have an issue with them that wasnt my fault (bad grounding and messing with the switch)

LoL upon seeing the pictures...i'd rather stick to the knock-offs if i didn't have any extra money to throw around. But if i did...i'd go with the real ones ofcourse. It's all just money situations and personal preference.

Re: JDM & FAKE foglight

ive compared my jdm's to the fakes and you can definately tell a difference in quality just by looking at them. and then we turned them on and mine outlit and overpowered his. so i would say go JDM its worth the money.

The JDM's have the little covers over the bulb themselves like a low beam headlight. The fake's don't.

That much?! Just for fogs? I have an import so I don't really know the difference. They're just there. What do you normally have then?
