Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

It can definitely be done, but not easily or cheaply. I don't think there are a whole lot of step by step how-to's on it, it's not a simple process.

Re: how do you convert a 5thgen to RHD

the only thing i know that woukld work is if you just can get a front half of a jdm prelude and just swap out. neck is right tho, these are the type of questions where its interesting to ask, not knowing if you actually would be up for it.

I know it can be done to a 99 Prelude cause I did it. Here are some links that should help you out.

Re: how do you convert a 5thgen to RHD

Thank you. Not sure about whp though. I just have a regular h22a4 with intake and PS pulley as well as a tuned p28. I'm going to be upgrading to 345cc injectors pretty soon. I'm not really looking for any major gains with this car since its pretty much just a show off car to show people on the streets my Auto Body skills. I'm eventually going to sell the car one of these days if someone were to give me an offer I can't refuse

Re: how do you convert a 5thgen to RHD

There were still areas where I saw little imperfections I didn't like as well as some of the body work that I did you could still see. I'm actually going to be redoing it once again, cause after I painted it again, a friend of mine that was helping adding some stuff to the clear coat to give it that extra gloss look. Well, it didn't mix right with the base coat, so now I have "solvent poppings" so you can see lines of little white spots where it didn't come out right.

When I repaint the car again, I'm just going to sand and primer over those areas plus someone put a lil door ding on the driverside door cause there a lil bit of red paint. This is going to be an on going project till I finally sell it. I actually just finished wraping my door panels, center counsol, and mirror covers in suede

Re: how do you convert a 5thgen to RHD

I would color blen, but I'm going to just redo the whole car that way I know the toning is all the same, cause there are too many small and big areas to try and color blend, so doing the whole car again would just be easier.

right hand drive... and unless you live in a country where that's how the cars are... I can't imagine why you'd want to do a conversion

How many RHD Preludes have you seen in your area or any area that you've been to? How many RHD civics, integras, RSX's, do you see at car shows or even on the street?

I see lots of rhd cars actually... cause everyone around here likes to import their imports, supras, rx7's, a few wrx's, 3000gt, civics, teggies...

I'd rather have a lhd unless I was going to be driving on the left side of the road

seems like a lot of money and effort for an inconvienient driving position (if you are in a country that drives on the right side of the road as opposed to the left)

if it's going to be a show car only I suppose I can see the appeal, but meh

Re: how do you convert a 5thgen to RHD

You might see a lot of RHD civic, teggys, 3000gt's, skylines, but never a Prelude which is why I decided to do this, cause you don't ever see them. I've seen several civics and integras, but now it seems like I have the only 5th Gen Prelude around in my area, so selling the car won't be very hard at all. Besides, I built this just to see if I could actually do it. I didn't spend a whole lot of money, or at least not nearly as much as I would've if I imported one

If someone has the money to import one, then that's cool. I'd much rather have a better feeling of knowing that I put something like this together with my own hands. Besides, it's cheaper and didn't have to worry about emissions or customs crap. The car still has the original VIN#'s, so getting it registared was easy and then I had to get a "special inspection" cause I'm still throwing a stupid code for my o2 sensor and VTEC solenoid sensor. Plus the fact that I have 2 long cracks on the windshield.
