my last question about suspension

alright so i reseasrched using sway bars on my car and really the rear sway bar is more beneficail than the front but i just got new say bar bushings and end links and from what i have read thats like having a new sway bar so do i need to buy a new sway bar or am i fine with my bushing kit? also i have heard from many people that a rear tie bar is just bling and dosnt really do anything for your car but i have also read that it does help stiffen it up alot which one is true is it a waste of money or no?

Re: my last question about suspension

rear tie bars don't do a damn thing. if you don't believe me go under your car and look at the giant piece of metal that it attaches to and then look at what that giant piece of metal attaches to, its that whole entire sheet of metal that surrounds the driver and its passengers. and imagine attaching a small rode between the 2 bolts on either side. and then you tell me if it will help. that piece of metal really doesn't flex enough that 1/2" diameter metal rod is gonna make a difference. let alone a noticeable difference. a better buy would be a strut tower bar.

as for a sway bar. new bushings for your sway bar don't do a thing either. the sway bar rotates inside the bushings. the bushings are there for cushion and sound reduction. as far as endlinks go. unless they are bigger, they won't be of any use.

alright sweet then i will go get a rear sway bar then and i already ordered front and rear strut tower bars and a harness bar inside so that should make it alot firmer and that should be good enough?

Re: my last question about suspension

yeah that will make it a good bit firmer. but only in turns. it won't feel any firmer going over bumps. but i have to ask what are your goals for your car? are you planning on racing? legally of course, like auto-x or the likes. are you already lowered?

Re: my last question about suspension

this is just theory. but stiffer rear end is better on a front wheel drive car for the best handling. now yes, you can go to stiff and make it worse. but i don't think a bigger sway bar makes it that much. i got a progress rear sway bar and the handling is pretty neutral. its easy to understeer of course. but its also easy to oversteer. but i actually have to really TRY to oversteer. i don't have strut tower bars but i'm lowered about 1.5 inches. so judge from that and do what you feel you should do.

what are you lowered on anyways??
