seat swap

ello guys, this being my first post, I hope this subject has not been discussed before.

I'm looking to buy an 5th gen SE but all of them I see for sale around here comes with ''normal'' seats, not leather ones ( I don't know the word in english lol sorry )

I was just wondering what other leather seats from other honda / acura can be swaped in a 5th gen without much complication ?

thanks guy !

If it's the SE it should come with leather.

Re: seat swap

Pretty much any seat you want can be put in...You may have to get a rail kit or fabricate special brackets... Just depends how much effort you wanna put into it..

Re: seat swap

yeah that's why I was asking I wanna know which ones can be put direcly onto the prelude's bracket ? ( or the less complicated to put in )

and firebos7 you're right, I doubled checked the 'ludes for sale and every SE has leather seating.

Re: seat swap

I believe S2k seats are direct bolt ons and most likely Accords, but dont quote me on that...

Re: seat swap

Why don't u just look for someone selling stock se leathers?

Are the leather seats heated up there too? I have heated cloth seats but always wondered if they have them in leather too?

Re: seat swap

don't know about leather heating seats, all I know is where I live ''clean'' 5th gen's a very very rare, so it might be hard to find one with leather, specialy an SE, and a 5sp. in that case I wanna know which seats could fit in there :)

btw : are 5th gens that rare in USA ? ( I believe most of you live there )

Re: seat swap

Nah theres a pretty big following of 5th gens...I even see grandmas(older women) with 5th gens. And yeah I've heard that RSX seats are pretty simple to swap out...

Re: seat swap

For sure you could just have your seats profesionally upholstered, and that way you can go what ever color of leather you want and there will not be any fitting problems. S2K seats are pretty $$$$

In quebec any car with more than 5 year old is hard to find in a very good shape...

I dont know about you, but I think that 10 000$ or 11 000$ for a near 10 year old car is a lot of cash. Even if it has low mileage, I mean rubbers and all other stuff that get bad even if not driven a lot will soon be due for a change.

And dont do like me. I settled for an automatic because I found one in good condition for the price that I wanted to pay. It only has 125 000km and the tranny is already going south.

I mean I dont totally regret it beacause everything else is in very good shape, hell even the engine does not burn one qt of oil between oil change. But just the fact that swaping my tranny for a manual will cost me more than half of what I paid for the car is pissing me off pretty hard. Even rebuilding it is like 3000$ and I dont know how long it would last. Because even if its good when you buy it, the auto tranny will let you down, they all do...

Other than this good luck with your search, and I would say if you find one low mileage with little to no rust, dont back down because there is no leather seats. Just add them later down the road.
