To Use carbon Fiber Hood or not

Hi guys,

I got a nordic mist silver 5th gen a month ago. The hood and spoiler are badly oxidized and the hood has a little dents and some chips in the front.
To get the hood painted will cost me somewhere around 350-500 bucks for my color.

I found a guy selling a unpainted vis carbon fiber hood and trunk lid for much less than that. But i am worried whether unpainted cf on the car will look ricer.
My car is all stock.

So should I go with Unpainted CF HOOD or not! What do you guyz think?

Re: To Use carbon Fiber Hood or not

When you say unpainted do you mean it doesn't have a clear/gel coat on it??? And if you can get BOTH for less than 300-500 I'd be a bit worried. Seeing as CF hoods themselves usually go for that amount, not to mention the trunk lid. Sounds too good to be true to me IMO

Re: To Use carbon Fiber Hood or not

I normally don't like the look of just one CF peice in the middle of a painted car

but who cares what others think, if you think it will look good

even if your car is bone stock eventually somebodies gonna say it's rice (cause some people are idiots)

IT does have the clear coat on. By unpainted i mean not color matched to rest of the car.
Its not brand new. its used thats why low price. but its in perfect condition. and its genuine too.

Re: To Use carbon Fiber Hood or not

Hell yeah man do it... If it is VIS thats a killer deal...Just be sure to take care of it...CF has a tendency to oxidize when not maintained properly... just like paint...

Re: To Use carbon Fiber Hood or not

I'd go with the CF. A lot of parts, including a $200 cf hood, I've seen on craigslist. People need money or are returning they're cars to stock or both.

Re: To Use carbon Fiber Hood or not

Think of it this way....

Get the CF and keep the stock part in your garage. Have fun and enjoy the cf look regardless of what others think and when you're done and bored of it then sell that part and slap back on your OEM part!!! Fair enough?!?!
