Well boys.....

I am having a new problem every damn month with my 5 gen and me and my dad are sick of it so we are talking about getting a new car and know i make about 750$+ a month looks like the Mitsubishi Evolution 8 isnt a bad choose. I have seen a few for $18000-$20000 with 20000 30000 miles. Hopeing the lude willl sell for around 5000 and that money plus 4,000 dollars would go to my down payment. The evo would be payed off in a few years than can start upgrading a tunning that for from for serious power.

The trouble will be finding an Evo 8 that hasn't been whipped... not too many old ladies using those as grocery getters

plus for that money may I also recommend looking at the S2K ^_^

Are you paying for this or is dad? Because on that income how are you going to do both car payments and insurance? (just being realistic)

Re: Well boys.....

Yeah around 750 a month isn't gonna cover the car payment AND insurance.....and insurance isn't gonna be cheap (unless u put it in ur dads name)

But yeah its gonna be hard to find one that hasn't been beat on

S2K's are way cheaper and ladies love convertibles!!

yeah. stick with the vtec son. regardless of how impractical a 2 door, limited trunkspace convertible is. i'd still go s2k over evo8. but then again im not sure where you're from. hey if it snows alot where you are go fer the AWD.

good question i am figuring payments are going to be 300+ a month which is fine and i mow lawns for 25 dollars a week(1 day a week) 4 weeks in month 4x25=100 and the evo insurace is 100 dollares more a month vs the lude soooooo thats how the insurane is taken care of

s2k are very sick but for one idk how well that bad boys going to handle in the BIT of snow i get and i think the AWD will be more fun. I figure the turbo'd evo is going to be a lot easier to boost up to more power in a few years once the payment is all done

I would rock a converible s2k all day!! but safety 1st

I was looking into buying a s2k before but they don't have tilt steering and there just wasn't enough room....and I hate how 350z converibles look when the top isn't down.

If u can afford it where ur not living paycheck to paycheck then I say go for it because evo's are good cars.. Just look around and don't jump on the 1st one u see

Its funny how most ppl with preludes eventually upgrade to bad ass cars (evo's, supras, rx-7, TLs, and 350z's)

while most civic owners end up getting an integra

it's because we have pride in our cars
and also because we like to look for practical use ATM/ and for the future
we (as in lude owners on PZ) think about what were doing ahead of time.

Re: Well boys.....

Lets put it this way my fiance had an evo and while he loved it very much his payments were closer to $400 because he bought it new. Even with a good paying (as in about $2300 a month) permanent job and insurance. It was still a lot to pay out, plus if you ever want to move out or save money you will not be able to. You also have to think you will have this loan for about 4-6 years and do you have any credit or is your credit score good? With out a good score on your credit you may not even be able to get financed for that amount. Also if you do want to sell it to get out from under it, will there still be a demand or will you end up with negative equity?

TRUE STATEMENT

Cause civics and integs are alright stock and with a little work the lude pretty sick stock and doesnt take much for them to look great.

the loan would be under my parents name and the car would get paid off 2-3 years not 4-6. Depends on how much i wanna pay per month. **** i think i can pay like 100 a month on the loan but interest would be off the wall crazy. I am shooting for somewhere between 250-400 per month.

you also have to take into account other life expenses, school, going out with friends, gas, food, beer

then of course repairs for your car what if something goes wrong

with my old car I spent 1k in a month out of bloody nowhere

I make more then 750 a month (I make about twice that right now) and a 20k car is while technically affordable, realistically out of my price range at the moment

I almost bought a gen coupe but I sat down and figured out what all the real costs would be and it wouldn't leave enough what if money to be a good idea (and the cheap version is not too much more then 20k)

just sit down, make a spreadsheet of what all your costs will be realistically and you will see it's unfortunately not too good of an idea, especially not on an income of only 750 a month

I'd recommend getting something cheaper, maybe a lude in good condition and save up the money

Re: Well boys.....

I was in a similar predicament. Before I got my lude I was gonna get another 03 WRX ( I had one in high school and totaled it...what a surprise) but the overall payments were completly unrealistic..affordable.. but unrealistic. It's not worth having to beat yer head against the wall and scrape by just to have HP. I'm only 23 and I opted for the better quality of living. You got plenty of time to have big ponies in the future. Then again I didnt have my parents to back me up. Give it some extra thought...

Re: Well boys.....

wow im sorry guys but the s2k over an evo? Hell NO!!!!

Evo all the way, if you can AFFORD then definetly go for this car if you want it.

The AWD is awesome and definetly a plus for a conditions.

260+ RELIABLE STOCK HORSEPOWER!!!!!!! very easily can break the 3's with just a laptop tune and some breathing components!

4 doors is a big plus, most of us while we get older soon realize a coupe isn't doing justice for us..being as we have kids or want to go out with your friends and having the cramp backseats its not that practical, or hell having no backseats cuz of the s2k!

i went out for an evo, my insurance quoted me on 425!!!!! for an evo. yes its a lot but i was 18 by myself and in NY!!!!!!! and it still came out cheaper then my lude.

like i stated if you can financially provide yourself with an EVO do it.

Owning an evo is fun, but the clutches are BITCHESSSS!! and if you cant do that job yourself its well over $800 for labor. Anywhere you go!

Other then that its just regular maintence etc...

if you really are looking at getting this car, headover to evolutionm.net LOADSSSSS of info there.
