If I'm stuck with it I might as well enjoy it.

I posted up here a while ago about trying to sell a car that adopted me, after the loan I co-signed for came back to haunt me.

Well I still have it...CLEAN now! And am very much enjoying driving it.
It has the auto tranny which is fine with me ( I don't have a working left knee) but with the manual shift mode, it's pretty fun to drive.

I am trying to find out if this car , in your Honda Prelude opinions, would be worth trying to part out, or continue to try to sell whole?
If I could afford to pay for it & the insurance I would just keep it.
Is ther much demand for 99 Prelude parts. Aside from minor body roughness it's in great shaape.

This is a request for info only, not an ad for a sell, so please don't delete me...& don't offer to buy it...

Or on the other hand should I just keep it & join the ranks of the Prelude savy.?! Which I can tell would be enjoyable..

There's a pretty good amount of demand for the OEM 5th gen Prelude parts, actually most older Hondas sell very quickly when being parted out. If you have the capability and time to pull the car apart and sell individual parts, you may make a good amount of money.

However, if you don't have the time to take pictures, post ads, tear the car apart, etc, then I would say sell the car whole.

Re: If I'm stuck with it I might as well enjoy it.

Thanks for the input DJ.
I have parted out several other vehicles through online sales. So taking pics, taking apart & shipping are like second nature to me.

I'm sure, even though I haven't checked this site much, that there is a parting out section.
After I get enough posts I can put out a thread on it here, any other suggestions on good places on the web to post parts for sale?
Thanks for your help.

Re: If I'm stuck with it I might as well enjoy it.

honestly this is a good car, get the 99 and up auto and you shouldn't have as much problems as 97 and 98.

i would keep it if you want something fast and sporty..anything else would be manual if you wanted the same fast and sporty characteristics, or a lot more money

Not really interested in fast & sporty. Got the car by default of a co-signer & can't really afford to keep it.
Need to sell it or part it out
