Icon8 After the garage.. Bodyshop I guess

So I got my car back at the end of June from the garage where I got my motor swap done. I had some ticket to go see AC\DC in Moncton on august 6 so we went there, it was like 4 hours drive from my place. That concert was awsome by the way! The very next day I decided to go camping for one night with my girlfirend before coming down from Moncton. So after building up the tent we went to have something to eat.. well that never actually happened.. maybe 5 min after leaving the campground a older lady cut me off, so I slammed on the brake but when i looked in my mirror I could see the truck behind me coming pretty fast and he sure didn't stop. By the time I saw the truck it was already too late.. Here's the results.

BTW Sorry these are cellphone pic

Re: After the garage.. Bodyshop I guess

At least it's just the bumper. Doesn't look like even the tail light was hurt. Had the 1/4 panel been damaged, you'd be in sh!t creek cause it's hard to fix properly whether using bondo for a little damage or cutting it out and welding in a new one.
That color of paint is rather expensive though, but I guess you already know that. Did he have insurance?

wow that really sucks. could have been a lot worse though. looks like the truck and taillight were untouched, and at least your air bags didnt deploy. looks like just a new bumper cover and maybe reinforcement

Re: After the garage.. Bodyshop I guess

Well I definitly need a new bumper and all the reinforcement bar that hold it in place. The light are not damage but they arent really were their supose to, they moved a little. The trunk too did move a little bit but these are just adjustment. The worst part is the 1\4 panel like you said..

Yes he had insurance but they said they would only paint the rear of the car, or wherever there was damage.. I mean my paint was original, my car is already 10 years old, how will they be able to match the paint?

His rear quarter definitely took a hit. you can see the dent the size of a football in the 2nd or third pic.

Thant sucks that that happened man. How did the swap come out? did you drive her home after the accident or was it unfit to drive? any suspension damage?

Very true, just had my quarter repaired at over $3400. It's not TOO bad, but I know it sucks. I'm sure it will look great when you get it redone.

Good eye, I missed that.
Looks like it's repairable without being replaced though.

Re: After the garage.. Bodyshop I guess

yeah It definitly coulda have been a lot worst.. But like some of you guys said I'll get a new bumper out of this. I did drive the car home afterward, the policeman did a little inspection of the car before I could take the road.. The only thing he check was the brakes and lights.. never even bend underneath the car to check.. Oh and there is one more thing when I drove my car back I could smell the exhaust inside my car.. dont know if there a crack in my exhaust cuz it's not louder then it was..

The swap did go really great, my H22a4 wasn't working good at all. Everyday I would have to put a quart of oil. The Vtec on that engine wasn't really working too since it no oil pression. Now it just feel's awsome I never had drive an H22 before even in my old Lude I only had a b21
