Guess I will start with an outline of the car/history.

Bought it new in late 01 for my sister. She took it down to california for school and it has been down there ever since. There she has some crazy ricer fiends and they did everything wrong .. WW Avenger bodykit, rims, sterio.. i guess at some point it was nice.. but a few stray speedbumps, curbs, and thieves later.. the car came back to me..

I drove her new Fit down and drove the lude back (zip ties in tow). I was initially going to prep the car for sale.. But she offered it to me for one hell of a deal.. and I was looking for a daily driver (f-350 gets horrid mpg).. So i snaped it up

I will try to find some b4 pictures.. but.. As with everything I do I forget to take any befores.. SUCKS!!

The car has 64k miles and the interior is in mint condition.. Except from the fact of a missing coin tray damn thieves!!

So now I begin...........................................

With all projects... They start with the best sight ever!!... The UPS man with a few BIG boxes!! ok in this case small

OEM parts just to get the part in a place where I feel is a good starting point.. I luckly made her send me her OEM bumpers.. so i had them is storage... Just no clips and connectors to put it on..

oh.. you will notice the brand new coin tray!! YAY!!

Before starting any project.. Get her off the ground.. makes life easier.. and saves your back.. with my old age (25 holy crap im old) this is one thing I have learned..

wait.. but I dont have a shop anymore :( no lift... no gantry crane.. oh well.. i have tools.. and heavy equiptment!!

ps.. the bobcat is there as a saftey catch.. should everything goes wrong.. and a gotta make a run for it.. something I dont see enough ppl do.. always have a saftey

Next up... Bigger Boxes!

OEM lip kit
Black front
Blue everywhere else.. Need to paint it forsure

wait... is that what i think it is.. paint? PPG oh no!

As with pretty much all riced up body kits.. they pretty much attach with self tapping screws... and a TON of 3m dbl sided tape..

freakin hell.. if any of you guys have ever tried to take 3m tape off without damaging the paint.. it's not fun.. unless you use the right products.. thanks god for knowledge

erase it.. yes.. thoes erasiers that the artsy kids had in high school.. just juice it up into a power tool format.. vrrromvroom

own the bobcat... she's my baby.. i pretty much find an excuse to use it everyday.. last time i was too lazy to jack up my truck for an oil change/new exhaust... ooooo lala presto

and lets not forget when i have to drive down to road to check my mail..

To me... Rice is ppl doing things the cheap way.. as in not taking into account for quality and install integrity.. you can still cut corners.. but plz.. no fart cans for 30 bucks.. fiberglass drag spoilers on a fwd car.. that kinda stuff..

You would think right? But I would trust these bricks over jackstands anyday.. If you have ever tried to lift a car on jackstands at full extension.. with a slight downgrade it's not safe at all..

the car is almost 3 feet off the ground.. I'm not even sure you could buy jackstands that would do that..

As for the ramp idea.. I have one.. but I need to take off the wheels... n get at the brakes/suspension.. <- more mods.. muahaha

When you know your UPS guy on a first name basis.. You have issues..

new package.. Skunk2.. I have used their products on the Fit.. and they make some well made products.. lets hope it's a smooth install..

Re: tidbit's 01 Lude Thread

*EDIT* I was able to cross post images elsewhere.. makes it so much easier to write up these updates..

pics of parts out of the box.. extremely well packed.. bends and smooth and even comes with extra parts!!

You will notice that I installed the midpipe s-bend and tail pipe together before getting it into the car.. i normally do this because I can bolt/seal the pipe better when it is off the car..

The pipe madness and some from the truck..

You will notice that I left the rubber hangers on the OEM muffler.. the rest was much easier to just leave on the car.

before installing the Skunk2 pipes.. I made sure to check all the stock rubber oem hangers for damage (cracks).. all checked to be in great condition.. I made sure to install it on the car FIRST.. as the skunk2 pipe is much easier to slide into the grommets..

On my car... there was this nasty bend in the undercarrage sheeting.. it would hit the s-pipe when i shook the exhaust around a bit.. easy fix.. BIG orange mallet and one percise swing later.. no more touchy

oh... if you are invested in air tools.. and dont have this little tyke.. WHATS WRONG WITH YOU!??.. Butterfly impact.. nummers when bolting/tearing down an exhaust.. and engine.. and head.. and...

I'm anal.. my buddies think my mom smoked way too many joints when I was baking.. But with every exhaust.. I use high temp silicone on ALL the joints and seals.. I know.. the gaskets are self sealing.. no silicone required.. but hey..

here is the key IMO.. You have to work really fast now.. so put that beer away.. cause you only have 10 mins to start the car.. i cycle the engine for the seals to set. the excess silicone that oozes out of the seals now has the opportunity to settle down from the exhaust heat and not flare up and obstruct the exhaust flow..

like I said again.. be quick.. cause you are timed

A little bit goes a long ways..

also.. the silicone holds the gasket in place.. no need to have another buddy drink your beer.. this is a solo job!

The bolts that came with the kit were a grade.. kinda felt bad using them on the underside of the car actualy.. A little bit of anti-seize..

Pic of the midpipe hanger.. looks sweet

what a PITA.. I actually had to get a wrench.. craftsman ratcheting 9/16th.. See the ooozing.. imagine that inside the pipe.. Hence the heat cycle..

27mins later.. Done.. Buddy timed me.. I had no beer.. so he wouldn't help.. .. Overall I am very pleased with this product.. didn't break the bank.. and sounds like a real car.. without the fart can flopping sound as i punch on it..

Re: tidbit's 01 Lude Thread

truthfully... It is a little loud in the interior for my taste... but I have yet to sound proof the car.. so I will save my verdict till then... It does have a very low deep tone and my friends like it... It just sounds like an acoustic cluster *$#) inside the car.. that's all

found another excuse to use the bobcat today.. needed a quick fix for a spray booth for the blue lip kit.. Rather than making a room.. I just pulled a trailer.. (the only one empty)..

a good cleaning to make it as dust free as I can.. I will prob wet the floor when I am spraying.. to avoid a little kickback.. and yes.. I will be putting plastic all over the walls for overspray.. need to keep the car hauler looking good

for the brick lovers out there... she is all level!! :P I will be spraying at night because the days are way too hot for me to apply the clear..

I have a set of jack stands that will hold a full size truck almost 4foot off the ground (not that I have a jack that will jack something up that high)
