Icon5 electrical issue..

hello pz. my friend has a 5th gen and he took his radio out and put it back in (im not really sure why) but ever since then his tail lights don't work except when braking and his gauges dont light up. he said he checked all fuses and they all look alright. i have no idea how to help so i'd thought i'd ask you guys. whadda ya think?

has to be a fuse. The tail lights and dash lights run on the same circuit.

it doesn't "have" to be a fuse, if the fuse is good and both of those are on the same circut then it is most likely the ground wires, you'll have to get the wireing schematics and find out where the ground is for the tailights and dashlights, it will most likely be behind the radio somewhere, those ground wires are easy to break and a biotch to pinpoint, trust me i know, good luck!

very true. Thanks for the correction. From memory there are a couple grounds behind the CD player, not sure which ground is for that circuit though.

an ohm meter will be of much use to you.

This happens fairly often actually (the ground issue), on more than just Hondas. I have a friend that does a lot of system installs and this is the most common problem that he comes across.

Check the "TAIL LIGHT" fuse in the interior fuse box, I believe its 15A. That one might be out
