sportshift question

my brother drove my car when we first got it and he drove with it in sportshift mode

now he drove it like an automatic

would that hurt the transmission?

AHGISAGNIOASMGFOAgf

I barely started driving the lude recently due to getting insurance for it, but when I drive i noticed it kind of pauses when I drive...

Re: sportshift question

No it wouldn't hurt switching back and forth between them. It is an automatic so it will fail on you eventually either way you use it lol. If you haven't heard about the auto tranny failures do a search. What do you mean it pauses?

Re: sportshift question

i meant he was driving it in sportshift mode, but he thought it was in automatic mode

so he was driving in sportshift mode without shifting gears but it was around 5 minuts and the max would have been40mph

Re: sportshift question

Man how do you not notice that? At 40mph hed be sitting at roughly what 6-7k rpm. Thats not a long drive but def not good fo a car. Id be more worried about the engine then tranny

Re: sportshift question

No offense to your bro but that's straight up stupid. Is he like 16 or something? And yeah that's definitely not good for an automatic trans. Hell, it isn't good for a manual trans.

Re: sportshift question

I've been driving mine practically all the time with the sports shift, and it isn't failing yet (touch wood).

The only difference is that you as a driver is activating the shift solenoid rather than the rpm chip activating the shift, so it won't make it fail earlier/later. However these transmissions have a documented high failure rate, especially the early ones. Keep fresh fluid in it and you will should be able to prolong the life of it.

^Yep, just maintain the tranny as required and don't overdo sport shift & you'll be good to go
