Opinion on suspension

has anyone ever used these? they are Tokico HP and I was planning to get them any comments?
Drops F = 1.25"/ R = 1.25"

P.s I am currently on Skunk2 springs with stock struts and my struts blew. (Drops F=2.5" / R=2.5")

+1.. I don't know alot about suspension, but I found those to be around $300 and I am sure you could find some that will give you a better drop for around that price.
Like I have HR racing springs on mine that give me F1.5" B2.0" with stock struts for $200-300 and its just an average drop

Re: Opinion on suspension

first of all people, lets get terminology correct here. a strut is a shock and spring assembly. shocks are not struts. shocks are only part of a strut. plus on an obscure question you're gonna have to wait a little more then 7 hrs to get your answer. be patient. hope this helps.

but to answer your question. i've used the tokicos for about 2 years. its a good setup for the price. really its an entry level setup. they surprised me how much it improved the ride performance with out reducing the ride quality to much. they will be a lot better then your blown shocks thats for damn sure. its not an agressive drop but it still improves the look over stock height. i got rid of mine mostly because they just weren't what i was looking for. i wanted something way more performance oriented.

thats an invalid reason. what if thats what he wants? i only wanted a subtle drop. thats why i got them originally..

Re: Opinion on suspension

If you already got quality lowering springs just get some quality shocks. Seems like a waste to buy both if you already got one?

Re: Opinion on suspension

Beaker said it all. i ran this set up on my civic years back. i loved the ride quality and handling but it def wasn't aggressive enough. IMO you will be unhappy w/ the purchase within 6 months. i'd advised droppin it at least 1.5" (minimum).

good luck. let us know what you end up going w/

Re: Opinion on suspension

see telling someone to get something specific for their suspension isn't how you want to approach this. because what you like might not be what others like. albeit those are good suggestions. because he does have a good set of lowering springs already. why waste the money.

but how do you know he wants the 2.5" drop still? see i looked at it as he wants the tokicos because of the mild drop. and the fact that he included how much they dropped suggested that. but i could be wrong. he might want those because its effective and cheap. and thinking that way makes me want to suggest something effective and cheap. which would be, just buy a new set of shocks. however we don't know what he wants.

so do you want to keep the drop you have now? or do you want something less aggressive? for lack of a better term, the cheap way out would be to just buy a set of shocks. the reason i say that is because its gonna cost the least amt of money. but imo i'm a fan of keeping suspension parts from the same brand. your springs have you at 2.5" drop.. yet what if you buy a set of shocks, from the same company that sells springs that only lower you to 1.5", chances are those shocks are only good for that kind of drop also, and chances are you're gonna blow those shocks too with a 2.5" drop. much like stock shocks. they're not meant for a drop. hence why you blew them. now don't get me wrong. i'm not saying AGX's or koni's aren't gonna work. cuz they seem to be a very popular company and i haven't heard of any complaints of people blowing those shocks on extreme drops. but its just another thing to think about when you ask yourself what do you want.

to me, if i buy all my suspension parts from the same company, i know they're compatable and one won't cause the other to fail.

i've said this in just about every suspension suggestion thread. suspension isn't something you can suggest. because something i like may not be something you like. you need to research. figure out what you want.

Re: Opinion on suspension

2.5 is to much of a drop and its a pain in the ass sometimes because i cant get a jack under my car. 1.5 is good enough for me. iam going to get those shocks with a 1.5 lowering spring. :) thanks for all the suggestions. after the 1.5 drop i can get a lip and not worry about fing it up.
