I need a little help.

Ok now that I have decided to sell my headunit, I need to take it out of my car. I had it installed at a local shop so I have no clue how to get into my dash to get it out. I know I have seen a guide somewhere but am drawing dead on my searches right now. Can someone help me out with a guide.

Also, the reason I am taking out my old headunit is because I have picked up an Alpine IVA-D300. This I am going to install my self. I am going to put the brain in my trunk by my amp and run the wires along side my amp wires. But I have no clue how to install the e-brake switch. If anyone has any experience with this I would love some insight.

Thanks in advance guys.

Use a teaspoon or a small flat head screwdriver to pull the surround out. It feels like you'll break it, but give it another pull and she'll come off. Pulling the head unit out from there is as easy as the four phillips head screws you can see.

The handbrake switch isn't something I can help you with though.

Yeah the outer trim bezel is held on by 8 clips. Here you can look at the instructions from the CF oem trim kit. It shows you exactly how to remove it.

Sooo... Basically... I love you. I hope you are all right with that.

Any leads on the e-brake install? (Keeping in mind my new headunit hasn't arrived yet so maybe it is in the manual.)

When you remove the console, there must be a wire to the handle that activates the little (!) light you get on the dash. You do get those warning lights over there? Try playing with that.

Yeah I get the big exclamation mark as well.

Head unit is out and sold! Now I am just waiting for the new one to arrive.
