Icon12 New JDM engine !

My h22a4 was running great but was burning so much oil that my back bumper was always black from the fume. So I though I'd keep that motor running until I'd get more money to fix it..( just make sure to check the oil level more often).. That was until my crankshaft pulley let go.. so I figured that if I was to put a new crankshaft pulley that I might aswell rebuilt my engine.

So after 2 week waiting for the garage to get it done, they called me saying they could not just change the ring on my motor.. they said they needed to change all the connecting rod and piston and blah blah.. (3500$$$ CAN)..

So I made some call and found a JDM 1998 engine with less then 80000 clicks for 1200$ with a waranty.

Just wondering a know there not much difference between h22a4 (usdm) and h22 (JDM) but what can I expect? I'm I gonna see a big difference between the 2 of them?

I should get my car back by they end of the week. I just cant wait! I'll let you guys know how it's running.

Re: New JDM engine !

If you'd search, you'd find it.
But since I'm in a good mood, the JDM H22A has a slight bump in compression from 10:1 to 10.6:1 so there's a slight power increase. Otherwise, it's the same as a regular H22A1, which is closed decked and the H22A4 is open decked if you don't know the difference between those two.
