Re: crank shaft pulley

did you try using an impact gun? it might just be the little key that locks the pulley in place is worn down, if so your lookin at a $5 part, but i would have it looked at sooner than later so it doesn't wear down on any other parts that would end up costing alot more.

Re: crank shaft pulley

i think im going to take it to a shop and have em look at it, i asked a few mechanics today as a second opinion and they said i could have spun a bearing, how ever the engine does not shake =/

Re: crank shaft pulley

get the tool that neck posted. use it to hold the pulley as you take a torque wrench to tighten the bolt to factory specs. i would try this before taking it somewhere.

Re: crank shaft pulley

my pully belts are not lined up, could this cause it to wobble?

could it be the engine mounts?

Re: crank shaft pulley

I doubt its the mounts. If that bolt came loose you might have worn the splines which would make the pulley sit crooked. Which could also explain the un-aligned belts. I would suggest takin it somewhere. If you did ware out the splines yer in for a lot more than just torqueing the bolt. On the other hand it could just be the keylet that dryden spoke of...Better safe than sorry man

ditto!!

Or you can do it the back woods shade tree mechanic way. Pull the rubber stopper on the bell housing (tranny) stick a big flat blade screw driver into the flywheel teeth and turn away on the bolt to the pulley...

No no no, don't do this get the tool and do it right its so easy.
