you don't actually need new springs if you don't wanna put them in. I put my wing on and never put new rods in

Re: installed my spoiler but not spring

Ya all the technicians here at our dealership always skip that part, HAHA. Sounds bad but they generally never have a problem with the extra weight.

Re: installed my spoiler but not spring

hahaha. ya I went to school for autobody and we skipped so many things. it's pretty bad when you have a car leave and you have a whole bunch of extra parts haha. but back on topic, they don't have problems at all with weight still pops fine

Re: installed my spoiler but not spring

what he said, if it still pops and stays up ok then i wouldn't worry to much about it. unless it really bugs you.

our techs, like most im sure have a drawer in their tool box designated for spare parts that just arn't really needed. they would never cop out on something serious (NOT being sarcastic) just small stuff that can be skipped to save .1 hours.

Re: installed my spoiler but not spring

nah you'll be ok, theyre just stiffer springs to make up for the extra weight/load of the spoiler.

Re: installed my spoiler but not spring

They're not heavier duty springs, they're the sameas the ones fitted. The difference is that when there is a spoiler they get put on a different mount (there's a couple different positions under there where they can mount) so that they have more torque to lift a heavier trunk lid.
