Apexi WS2 Cat-back Exhaust y/n?
So when I bought my car it came with an unknown N1 style straight through cat-back exhaust. It was loud as hell and droned when on the freeway. I've been pulled over and ticketed for it as well.
A while back there was some construction being done on one of the roads up here and the pavement had been grooved. I drove down a hill and my car was low enough for the canister to get caught on the manhole cover than must have been at least 3 inches above the pavement itself. Needless to say I don't really have a muffler anymore. Now it's really loud. And it really drones. I remember reading a while back that the Apexi WS2 was quieter compared to a lot of other cat-backs from Greddy, Megan, Tanabe, Skunk2, DC, etc. I've seen the WS2 sell for about $450 with shipping, which may be more than what I want to pay, but I need not to get pulled over, listen to droning on the freeway or draw unwanted attention to myself. Is the WS2 the way to go? |

If you want quiet get a Greddy SP2 if you can find one.

Re: Apexi WS2 Cat-back Exhaust y/n?
what are the differences between the SP2 and the WS2 besides as far as noise/flow?

From what I've read is the SP2 has less flow which makes it quiet

Re: Apexi WS2 Cat-back Exhaust y/n?
I have a WS2 on my 4G, I've had it for several years now. I like the sound of mine, still. I have also heard good things abou the SP2 but never heard one on a Prelude. My buddy who autox with me has one on his B16 CRX and it sound nice when opened up. I have my WS2 with a test pipe and it's still quiet until I get on it. If I had another choice it would be the RS*R ExMag, not sure if they make one for the 5G but that may be something you want to look into.

here's a thought: don't mean to threadjack btw.
but could you get a KTeller piping kit sayyy 3" and open up the inlet of the ws2 muffler and weld it up together? better yet, could you do it with a Mugen? that'd be sick if you ask me.

Re: Apexi WS2 Cat-back Exhaust y/n?
i have a stock muffler because i dont like mufflers that are way too loud. so whats the best muffler to get thats not too pricey and it doesnt sound loud that much.

Re: Apexi WS2 Cat-back Exhaust y/n?
I installed a Greddy SP2 over the weekend. Not loud until you hit 5k rpm. Sounds nice and deep until you hit VTEC then it sounds raspy.
