Re: need help tires

Ok, Im not an expert but have read a bit and will try to help you out

The rim will fit you car but you have to worry about the tire you choose.
I dont know what guide your read, Im assuming is this one
Recommended Tire size & Offsets!

If you are having trouble I'll explain you what the numbers means
For example 215/50/15
215 is the width of the tire (as looked from the top)
50 is the height of the tire (% from the width, 50% of 215)
15 is the rim size (15 inches) (diameter)

According to the guide for your 5gen and size of rim (17) you should use a 215/40/17 to avoid rubbing but Im not sure about that since the rim is 7.5" wide.
Maybe you should go with 225/40/17 since it is wider but Im not sure if it will rub the tire. Im using 225 in my rear rims that also are 7.5"wide.
Im sure someone with more knowledge will help you. (I have a 4gen)
But read the guide and search the net about tires numbers and Offset, there lots of information that can help you make a better decision for yourself.
