PLEASE HELP with o2 sensor!!!

hey all,
im having serious problems and can not figure this out...
i hollowed out my cat, threw a code (P0141), tried the nonfouler mod, it didnt work.
So i bought a new magna flow obd2 highflow cat 2.5 in/out, put it on without the nonfouler mod, threw the code (P141).
so i tried it again with the nonfouler mod, tried with one nonfouler and two nonfoulers and still threw the code. i even tried putting a aerater screen (from a tap) in the nonfoulers to reduce the airflow but i still throw the code.
can anyone help me get rid of this damn code! i think its worth noteing that i struck the 02 sensor with a hammer when trying to get my old cat off. it doesnt look damaged but is a possible source ofthe problem.

Re: PLEASE HELP with o2 sensor!!!

if you tried all those things to get the code to clear ... then i would definitely say your 02 sensor crapped out. replace and let us know what happens.

obd1 ftw! i accidentally dragged mine when doing my clutch and flywheel job, but it still worked fine. most likely hitting it with a hammer destroyed it...

There's a way you can do something with the wiring to make the O2 sensor always say it's working fine. Try a google search on that and see what comes up.

Re: PLEASE HELP with o2 sensor!!!

not to be an ass but did you reset your ecu?
If you did I would say that you need a new o2 sensor.
If that doesnt work then I would buy the weapon R cel eliminator. It is about 40 dollas and a quality part. I have a test pipe on my lude that is 2.5 in/out and the weapond r eliminator works like a dream. its bent 90 degrees which is perfect for proper air flow.
Finally if none of this works I would consider converting to obd1. This is a little expensive but will be a great horsepower booster becuse of the tuning capabilities. Just pick up a p28 ecu a conversion harness and take it to a tune shop to have it chipped this will eliminate the second 02 sensor and give you a considerable boost in HP. However this is not "smog leagal" and could get you a fix it ticket but then again so is hollowing out you cat in the first place.

Re: PLEASE HELP with o2 sensor!!!

hey man,
ya i defently reset my ecu each time. but i can see why you asked.
as for obd1 conversion i have looked into it and have decided i want to go through with it. however, i could not find a thread that explained what i would need to do exactly. as far as i know i need a ecu (p72 i heard was best but what else is available?), a obd1 dizzy, and like you said harness and tune. does it involve anything else? as for smog regulations i dont need to worry about it.
but if you have done this mod or know what else is involved ould you let me know?
thanks

Re: PLEASE HELP with o2 sensor!!!

I am currently in the process of getting this mod done. I am going to use a p28 ecu its getting shipped tomorrow. A conversion harness from streetlightz cause they are advertised and endorsed by Honda tuning magazine have a lifetime warrenty and are pretty damn cheap. You can ebay them from streetlightz ebay store and its like 40 with shipping included. And then I have an appointment with a local honda specalized tuning shop. These are the only things needed for this mod according to my tune shop. the parts are plug and play and the tune shop will chip and socket the ecu for me. I have not heard anything about the obd1 dizzy. I am pretty sure with a chip the ecu will work fine with obd 2 sensors. Just make sure you go to a tuner who knows his way around this mod. Also it might be worth it to spend the extra money and dyno tune the ecu. The quote I got form my tune shop is about 300 for the chip and socket. This is going to happen in the next month for me so I will keep you posted on how everything goes. I am hopeing that 300 includes some dyno time because I got a quote for this tune when i lived in houston and it was only 100.

Re: PLEASE HELP with o2 sensor!!!

is there an advantage to have one ecu over another? I have found some p28's and p72's for about the same price or does it not matter because the ecu is going to be "rewritten" anyways?

Re: PLEASE HELP with o2 sensor!!!

Well the p72 is an ecu off an integra gsr which also has the secondary intake buterfly valves just like our H22 the p28 is from a 92-95 civic and does not support this. So if you are running a oem intake of anykind then I would go with the p72 esspecialy if you can find it for the same price. The only reason I can think of to go with a p28 is if the tuner you are going to use prefers this ecu. That is why I originally went with the p28 my tuner personally recomended it.
