Icon5 Immobilizer problems 97 lude

Help how do I go about solving an Immobilizer system problem. My 97 lude is beginning to act up, Flashing green key on dash display, indicating immobilization system working how can I by-pass this. car won't turn over, has power. I assume key or reciever are worn, can I cut into the wires without shutting it down by some anti theft mode.

how is it acting up when it's working? Why would you want to bypass it?

Re: Immobilizer problems 97 lude

Well when it works there are no probs, but when it's not working I can't start my car. I have power but nothing to the starter no cranking. There will be a time in the not to distant future when it will leave me stranded. When it does not work, as of late I have been able to pull the key out turn it over and that usually does the trick but within the last couple of days that has not worked. I must walk away from the car, try again later. It is a on and off again problem for me. The reason I think to by-pass the key is because of older civics I have had with key problems I simply have taken the wires out of the back of the key ignition in the column and ran them to switches I have hidden under the dash, Kind of trick really, but dead simple in old tech. I'm a little nervous of trying the same on this model with the immobilizer don't know what to expect. I guess a big part of my problem is I don't like being raped at the garage.

It might be your ignition switch going out. I went out on mine about a year ago, same things happened to me too. Car wont start, or it wont shut off.. alot of ludes have this problem. I heard it could be covered from the honda dealership, but i cant remember who stated this.
