Exhaust system

I have a big problem and i need help. Im trying to buy a exhaust system for my 98 prelude type-sh. I was trying to pick from a OBX type-r and a OBX type-h exhaust and i have no idea what sounds better. I dont want to sound like any other honda either i want it to have a deep sound though. My friend has a Tiburon and he put a Flowmaster 44 super series and his car sound freaking nice. SO I WAS THINKING OF DOING THAT BUT IM NOT SURE?

Re: Exhaust system

First, to get the best answer for your question, you need to target the correct audience. Making a thread in the OFF TOPIC forum will merit answers like, "WRONG SECTION!" or perhaps, "GET A SUZUKI MUFFLER!"

Second, learn to help yourself. Check the resource guide and take at least 2-5 minutes utilizing the search feature.

As for your friends Flowmaster exhaust, in my opinion, Flowmasters do not sound nice on Hondas. Flowmaster is on the LOUD side as well. Please check the 4th & 5th gen resource guide(in my sig) for sound clips of various exhaust systems.

Re: Exhaust system

My buddy had a flowaster on his Neon R/T that sounded awesome. So I got one for my Accord, same setup but it sounded like s**t. So I wouldn't doubt what Prelude13 is saying about them sounding bad on Hondas. *shrug*

Re: Exhaust system

I have been totally turned away from OBX by numerous people. They say that nothing ever fits right and needs to be modified just to fit, quality is less than expected even though its cheap, and the company lacks good customer support. Spring the extra dough and go with Greddy. Thats what I have had on my past three cars and have been more than happy with it. Trust me. Totally worth it

If you want your car to sound like a Tiburon, buy a Tiburon.

Re: Exhaust system

you can also look into a custom exhaust. if you are looking to save some mony any shop can weld together the piping. just buy a nice muffler and have them throw that bitch on.

or if you wanna spend some loot here are great brands that will be nice deep and loud...
Apexi N1 - a little ricey for my taste w/ a huge can but sounds nice
Skunk2 Mega Power - i love this system. sounds amazing and high quality
Greddy EVO2 - same as the Skunk2. high quality, sounds sick... esp when VTEC pops!

hope this helps

also - listen to what Brian (Prelude13) said. utilize the SEARCH function on the site and always check out the resource guide. you can also SEARCH for sound clips of various exhaust system through GOOGLE. YouTube has a ton of them.

Your friends Tibby is probably a V6. Hard to match that sound. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for, so if you get an OBX then the guys that have GReddy, skunk 2, etc will be like this

Just kidding I have some cheap ebay header and I'm pretty sure the muffler is a cheap ebay product as well. Sounds okay but too loud for my taste.
