made a decision.

I went to the track last night, lets just say I am not happy.
I have a desire to go faster.

I eventually want to go turbo or JRSC but I can't do that while I am still in high school due to my ****ty fast food job.

After high school I will find another h22 block to build for whichever route i decide.

Now i have a few ideas for things to get like new valve train, new IM, TB, etc. probably typeS intake, custom exhaust.

Would it be worth it to switch to OBD I now or wait until I am actually running some form of boost?

I don't have ATTS so I don't have to worry about that shutting off if I hit too high of a number. Although I doubt I can reach that without a nice tune.

If I did most the things listed above, would I still be able to see a significant gain in power on OBD II?

I still have a few months worth of research and saving to do, but I am starting it today.

Re: made a decision.

You'll see a gain, but in order to really pull the most power out of your car, you should get it tuned with those mods. And in order to tune it, you'd have to convert to OBD1. Just for the record, what did you run?

And do you have a legit SH or do you have a base with SH wheels? and is your car 5speed?

Re: made a decision.

If ur planning on boosting it in the near future then do ALOT of research and start a parts list so you'll know what ur working with. You can go ahead and switch to obdI so u can tune her once you get those bolt-ons.

Re: made a decision.

IMO leave it alone untill you are ready to boost it.

DO A **** TON OF RESEARCH
A LOT OF SAVING

After you get out of school buy a beater for like 1000 instead of another h22 and use it as a daily while you are working on your car and that way you wont have to drive your pride and joy on a daily basis when you are done.

I also think you should actually go turbo not super charger but that's just preference too
if are really wanting to go a lot faster turbo is the way

It was an SH. But not after the motor swap, its the JDM H22a with LSD transmission, its the motor one step below the TypeS.
Its a 5spd.

My best time was a 16.1, the track was a little too wet for us street guys, everybody was running a bit slow, but this one guy said he was only running about 7/10ths of a second slower.

I tried everything from not launching to launching at like 5500, I also feathered the clutch on some tries and dumped it on others.

Yeah, what I am thinking right now is switch to OBDI, just get a simple tune to make it run a little bit better and just save up, not buying any extra mods.

Yeah everybody has there preference.

Thank you everybody for the responses. It helped me decide a few things.

I think it would be easier to just buy a beater car like BB2H22A4 said because for one my h22 only has about 45,000 miles on it. So it won't be in bad shape as long as I keep doing what I am doing.

Plan:

Switch to OBDI now.
Tune.
Save.
Save.
Research * 99999999.

Buy beater car.
