Icon14 Bill's summer project begins

This Isn't really a progress thread although it could be, it would be short though. I finally got my hands on a full lip kit, OEM front, with WWRS sides and rear. So I'm putting those on as well as doing a few "touch-up" things to my car. These are the things I've done/will be doing. Enjoy.

Match headlights (see below)
Paint grill - white
Paint calipers - gold
respray full lip kit - nordic mist
JDM foggies - yellow capsule mod
claybar/wax/then relax

5/28

When I bought the car my passenger headlight was painted black inside but the driverside wasnt. Instead of fixing it I just covered the headlights up with blue lamin-x. Well that got old and I figured I would finally have to do this. Thanks to JLudes retrofit thread, here are the results

After a few coats...

W/ the lense

resealing the headlight

final product shined up with plastic-x. Woohoo!

Removing Lamin-x is a pain in the ass! I used a hair dryer to soften up the adhesive then just pull like hell until you win. It leaves a nice layer of glue on the headlight for you, but its nothing a little adhesive remover cant handle.

Painting the grill didnt come out as great as I had hoped, I just need to touch up the edges a little.

The idea was that the white matches my seat inserts.

Overall I think the headlights and grill is an improvement

BEFORE

AFTER

For the lipkit I have to do prepwork and I may have to paint it too, my uncle is in the autobody business and he may be able to help out. If I do paint myself it will be with a rattle can, sooo I hope he comes through haha

When I got the wwrs there was a ton of double sided tape on it, it almost looked like the old owner just put double sided tape over double sided tape because he didnt feel like taking the first layer off lol. My uncle said I would have to use a razor blade to cut it all off but F*ck that it takes forever. So I went to autozone and picked up a rust/paint stripper for the drill and went to town. Its not an even surface but who cares. I'm only going to put more tape on it.

thats it for the day....more to come
