clutch slipping?

my clutch was replaced at 100km and is now 140km (canadian). Sometimes (maybe 5% or less of the time) when im starting in first gear it sounds like something is spinning but the car isn't really moving. I'm not to sure but think its something like my clutch isn't grabbing on, but it only last for a couple of seconds and my car is good to go after that. it only happens in first gear starting froma stop. But my clutch feels fine and grabs fine. Im not exactly sure what it is any help is appreciated!

*note
-timming belt was done at 100km too
-o2 sensor needs to be replaced

Re: clutch slipping?

i hope your throw out bearing was replaced, along with the rear main seal.

other than that, whoever installed it could maybe not torque the pressure plate on right..

Re: clutch slipping?

I have no idea actually, cause it was replaced by the previous owner. I did try and put it in 4th and 3rd in low rpm and floored it, clutch catches fine. Its just that annoying problem can the throw out bearing be fixed easily(cheap $$?)

Re: clutch slipping?

nope - it would be just like doing a complete clutch change - would cost you the same except you wouldnt be changing the pressure plate or clutch so you could save money on parts -

i guess this is a good time to get a lighter flywheel then!!??

Re: clutch slipping?

when you have your car idling, can you hear like squeaking sound coming from the tranny?

Re: clutch slipping?

Do you feel anything different in the clutch when it's happening or does it feel normal?
