Megan NA Type Catback??

Hey all, I have searched past threads and not found much on the Megan NA Type Catback for the 5th Gen. I have a Greddy EVO2 now and loved it until the muffler got busted on a crazy metal speed bump at the airport. The gaskets are also blown. I can't really afford another Greddy right now and need to pass safety inspection in two weeks.

I found a good deal on a Megan but how does the sound compare? If not well, what can you suggest?
Thanks!
Deanna

Re: Megan NA Type Catback??

sadly it is not about welding, the internal part of the muffler is busted and making noise. I wish is was that easy. I wish I could just find the muffler because I can take care of the gaskets but alas $560 was the best I could find for a whole new catback and that is a lot to spend right now. I love it as it was before but now it is really loud. I am going to need new tires soon too so I have to spread the wealth on her.

Re: Megan NA Type Catback??

damn that sux. im thinking about getting a skunk2 or an apexi muffler for my g/f's sh. if you dont have a new one by then ill let you know how one of them sounds on hers. im leaning more toward the skunk2 because ive had about every damn thing else and ive always wanted a S2 becasue of the deeper tone.

Skunk 2 is what i have on my car and love the thing. Perfect sound for the prelude. My buddy put a megan on his car with the 5in tip. It sounded pretty good but I still prefer the skunk 2 and other people i know prefer mine over his.

Re: Megan NA Type Catback??

how does the Skunk 2 sound compare to the greddy EVO which is deep and not too loud to attract the cops? Thanks!
