Replacing Radiator Fan Switch

When replacing the fan switch, can it be done just by removing the breather hose? There are a few hoses in the way from getting at the switch, and even with removing the air intake hose it looks like it might be difficult to get at.

Has anyone done this before? Will I have to drain anything out?
