HID help!

Hey there i have a Mculloch HID system it was on the car when i bought it and it is all hooked up it is just missing the connecters from the ballast connecters to the head light. I have bulbs but i have no idea if there the right ones for the system......... i dont even know where the light bulb goes there are two that are in the head lamp that look the same. I was looking online and the D2S connector looks like the one i need.... I have no idea any help would be great thanks.

Re: HID help!

post up pics of your harness and what exactly it is you need. there are so many different kits out there now that its hard to tell.

if you are running stock headlights then you will need an H1 style bulb and matching connectors. D2S bulbs are for things with factory HID projectors, like S2K, TSX, G35, and so on.

Re: HID help!

^^^ The bulb makes the difference in what color the kit is, you can have any ballast.

I'd be happy to tell you what you have/need soon as you post the pics! Most kits are exactly the same, so it'd be weird if it was something different...

Re: HID help!

Unless it's some weird perspective distorting the size of the "ballast," I can tell you for sure that that is not a ballast, it's some sort of signal converter. Those are standard connectors, though, pretty much universal for HIDs, that's what the bulbs would connect to.

Re: HID help!

Re: HID help!

your bulb should have two connectors coming out of it that connect to those connectors in your hand. that black box is prolly just the igniter or some sort of current regulator. the metal boxes that are in the bumper, they are connected to those black boxes, yes? if so then those are the ballasts. i will take a pic of mine later today or tomorrow and show you how mine look.

Re: HID help!

If you are putting these in a stock headlight housing, your bulb should be connected to a wire that has 2 plugs on the end that connect to the plugs on the picture that you posted.

Re: HID help!

those bulbs are not HID they are halogen made for the factory harness.

this is what an H1 HID bulb looks like.

The bulbs you have now are just halogen bulbs. You have to get some like the link I posted if you want HIDs in your stock housing, notice how they have the connectors that go to your ballasts?
The difference is one bulb is halogen with a blue coating to make it TRY to look like HIDs, the other one actually is an HID bulb. HID bulbs are brighter and last longer than halogen bulbs.
