Prelude Type S

http://www.tradecarview.com/stock/pr.../?si=220&pb=11

So I was reading up on the Prelude Type S which is made in Japan. I was just curious on seeing how much it would actually cost to ship it here and all. The top one shown came up to about 3600 bucks to buy the car and ship it, which can't be possible... What do you guys think? lol

Re: Prelude Type S

It will cost more than you'll ever want to spend.

but would still be pretty cool.

Re: Prelude Type S

Re: Prelude Type S

We had a thread in importing a little while ago, search for that one and have a read.

All in all it seems to me a lot of money to spend just to be unique. And unique is all you will be because the Type S engine isn't much more badarse than the stocker, and a stocker can be built up to better than a Type S relatively easily and cheaply. And right hand drive in the US is actually really hard. Well I've driven LHD over here, so I would imagine RHD over your side of the world would be just as hard. Basically it makes it totally impossible to lean out the window to pay for drive-thru (yes I covered the important one first!) not to mention it makes overtaking very dangerous because you can't see traffic around the car infront.

If you want one then go and get one, and we'll all say how jealous we are of what you've got and how lucky you are to have a genuine Type S. I'm just saying that I personally don't think it's worth the effort, and if you want a fast car you could have much faster with less hassels for the same money.

Re: Prelude Type S

Shipping it is one thing.

Getting it legalized is the hard and expensive part, which if you could afford it, you might as well import a Skyline or something with actual power since they're a dime a dozen in JDM land.

Re: Prelude Type S

I'd just buy all the bolt ons from the Type S and make your own.
