Engine code missing?

Hi Guys

I'm doing an engine rebuild this summer and I was starting to look around for parts. I popped open the hood in hope to find the engine code but it was no where to be found.

I bought my car from a used car dealership and in more than one occasion I've seen how much that is a mistake. The previous owner destroyed my car inside out with things I've had to pay for to compensate for his stupidity and his DIY's. I doubt you could rip off the engine code or anything like that but I seriously can't find it..

Forgive me for being a noob but I need help. Here are pics try to find it.
