loosing power :(

Ok I have a 5th Si-R import with 82k on the clock. I have noticed recently that it doesn't seem as fast as it used to be. And I had a long drive recently and on the faster roads it's more then obvious. Even when I rev up to the vtec that lacks power. It's mainly noticible at low RPM's though. It'll also take longer to get up to the vtec (5K).

Any help would be really good as this is grinding my gears (lol)

Re: loosing power :(

how long has it been since you serviced it?? have you had it tuned recently? check your throttle cable - it may be slack!

also check your air filter it may be clogged and not allowing enough air into the engine!

Re: loosing power :(

i would just do a compression check. i know its got low KM but just incase. you might hae some more serious problems. definatly check the air filter and injector wise i dont think that would be the problem i would think it would be sputtering if they were dirty. also check your clutch. you could have a problem there. or finally brakes. if you have major brake drag that can be a problem.

Re: loosing power :(

had the same problem..
ended up being my distributor cap (i think)..

I replaced

Plugs,
wires,
dist cap,
butterfly, (dist. roter)
cleaned intake/throttle
cleaned injectors

and just check around else where, if u seem something that "might" be a problem, look it up and see.

worked perfect afterwords. hope it helps.
