JDM Fogs installed.. Couple problems though

Alright just installed the jdm fog lights took me about 2 hours to get it done. It looks good but it only has one problem. They say that the fogs are supposed to turn on with the parking light right? Well, mines turns on but only when the car is on "ON" ignition. When I put it to ACC it turns off. I know that these are the replica fogs so it might be that. Also I know I'm not good at electronics so do you guys think I have a bad connection or something? thanks

btw heres a pic of them installed and my friends type s

Re: JDM Fogs installed.. Couple problems though

i have the true jdm's and as long as my parking lots are on the fogs will come on when i hit the switch, doesn't matter if the car is off or on. it is prolly something to do with the replica harness. does it connect at both points in the fuse box area? or how does that harness work?

Re: JDM Fogs installed.. Couple problems though

i have the replica jdm fogs and i can say that it all wires the same, id say double check to make sure the right wires are in the correct spots if not maybe your ground might not be fully connecting. i can't think of anything else man, good luck though.

Re: JDM Fogs installed.. Couple problems though

That's the difference between the two harnesses. The US harness won't allow them to come on with the parking lights because in the US that's illegal. How I'm not sure, you'll have to chat to somebody local to work that out.

The JDM (genuine) harness gives you the option of either being able to turn them on anytime (even without parking lights) or the option of them being able to turn on with the parking lights.

There is a conversion you can do (I'm in the process of working it out myself) but I can't help you more than that.

Re: JDM Fogs installed.. Couple problems though

i have the jdm genuine fogs. I have to turn my light switch to the first setting for my fogs to come on.
I want to be able to turn fogs on w/o turning the light switch to the 1st setting (interior lights, tail lights). 2nd is just headlights being fully bright right?

Re: JDM Fogs installed.. Couple problems though

Well MFL, all you need to do is move the plug in the fuse box by your feet. Now you can have them operate when the key is in the 'ON' position, or when the dash lights are on. If you want them on without the dash lights, then plug into port 2, whereas I guess you've got the plug in port 1 currently.

Pic for reference

Re: JDM Fogs installed.. Couple problems though

hmmm the jdms have two plugs that go into the fuse panel.

The plug with the two red wires goes into port #2 and the plug with the white/brown wire goes into port #5.

Re: JDM Fogs installed.. Couple problems though

How do you plug them so that they turn on only when the button is pressed and independent of the other lights being on/off?

To operate, they need a minimum of the key to be in the ON position.
