Re: red line help

The rev limiter is at 7200 for a stick. I'd imagine its the same for auto. I just never really thought about it.

Re: red line help

The actual rev limit is something like 7850rpm. But with analogue gauges being the accurate things they are, 7850 is essentially indicated as 8000. As to why it topped out just above 7100 is a little mystery. What gear were you in?

Re: red line help

you have a rev limiter on. mine does the exact same thing. it will go to 7100 and keep kicking you out until you up shift. i beleive it only does it in tiptronic though. i think awhile back i tested it and if you use the slots down the line you can actually redline its just gay to shift.

Re: red line help

I was wondering that myself. It is rather annoying. Maybe someone will pipe up. Did you try and see if google returns any info?

Re: red line help

it sounds like if you guys were to take your rev limiter off some how that you would blow your h22. the rev limiters are there for a reason not just to annoy people

Re: red line help

i had an 01 auto 2. I know one time i was like you and played around and found out mine was about 7400 on the tac scared the piss out of me cuz i thought it was more and when it was just in D and i held the peddle to the floor it would **** at about 7200. I don't think any thing is wrong the tac is not the most accurate. If you really want to know what is is i think you can get a digital one that plugs into the OBD II port.
