Catalytic Converter Help Please

I own a 1999 black prelude and had the P0420 code come on. I bought 2 new denso O2 sensors and a Magnaflow catalytic converter. I went with a 2 1/2 in inlet and outlet because im going to get a 2 1/2 inch exhaust the stock pipes are 2 inch so i have reducers on both ends of the converter. I had everything put in and it runs fine but not i get P0141 and P0420. Does anybody know what i can do to fix this? if i unhook the battery would that really reset everything and no check engine light will come on?

well try to reset it by taking out the raidio/clock fuse for ten secs. then stert up. then u get ur answer. i learnd things by doing it myself nd trying out myself. everybody learns how to work on cars by hands on.

Re: Catalytic Converter Help Please

well the reasons you are setting these codes is because the ecu is not detecting a change between your first and second O2 sensors. simple fix:
remove cat because from what you stated... you having to downsize your piping is kinda useless just to make room for a cat. then get a "spark plug defouler" this should screw into the existing O2 bung. screw in your first O2 normal then put the defouler on the second one...and screw the O2 into that one. reset the ecu ... like how ^modesto said and your codes shouldn't appear anymore.
