Re: Removing Cluster needles?!

well... you have to lay the cluster down gauge faces up. take a pencil mark where the needle sits... try to rest them against the needle stops. then with a flat head screw driver lightley pry the base of the needles by twisting the screwdriver slowly working around side of the base. some pins might come out w/ the needle. replace the gauge faces...or lay your new gauge face over the existing one. then install the needles.

^ been there......... I learned to love the stock gauges lol. there's also a write up on changing the color of the bulbs to LED's to freshen up the stock set

Re: Removing Cluster needles?!

okay well its not the end of the world.... when i first did mine same thing happened. okay.. heres what i did.
temp gauge: ran the car for about a half an hour... this way i knew the car was at operating temp. took the needle and placed in about half way. just check when the car cools down the needle moves down... do not force the needles from side to side.

rpm/tach: pretty much same thing... at operating temp its about 750 -800rpm.

speedo: obviously this is the hardest one to do..... if you have a friend that can help go for a cruise on the highway... tell them to go whatever the speed limit is ex: 55mph..... record what your speedo is at... lets say 40mph record this... pull over and adjust the needle... easiest way to do this... push the needle in just enough so it starts to catch so when your driving it moves.... but at least it makes it easier to adjust while driving. obviously try down a straight clear road.

fuel: go fill your gas tank... adjust the gauge.
i had to do this w/ mine... but at least it saves me from buying a new cluster. tons of people have removed their needles w/ no problems... some had to adjust them.

if you get the gauges that i have all you have to do is bend the gauges around the needles (they are flexible). i did not remove the needles at all. what kit did you get?
