door damage help

i reciently was being a retard like usual and happened to get my door caught on the side of my barn while going in reverse... the tommy boy style thing where the door gets pushed further than its supposed to go... it didnt go far only about 90% to the car about 10% further than usual there is a small ripple in the door where it hit something underneath, which i will buff out when i get it repainted but now the handle on the inside of the door takes lots of effort to open.

i have to pull closer to the base of the handle instead of anywhere on the handle and i have to pull all the way and kind of give my door a little nudge... any DIY that any one can help me with or any words of wisdom?
