Icon2 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT! Help me out please

Alright, i just got a magnaflow catalytic converter put on my 99 prelude, and a day after it got put on the check engine light came on, so i figured its the cat, it has to be because it isnt the stock converter the prelude wanted. I took it back to the shop, and they pretty much told me that "ur car doesnt like the new cat you put on it, its not hurting your car, the light just wont go off." I want the light to go away.. is there ANY way of getting around not having to go and order the walker catalytic converter for 130 bucks from autozone or what? Please help me out guys.

Re: CHECK ENGINE LIGHT! Help me out please

Unhook the battery for 10 seconds or a bit longer, then reconnect this will reset your cars computer. Our 5th Gens are a OBDII systems which is a learning ECU and it could be your computer was set for your stock converter (old and failing) so the computer will change somethings making the car run to its best ability. By resetting the computer the CEL will more than likey go out.

Hope that helps, if not you have an issue maybe O2 sensors.

Yeah, i took it in, and had the CEL reset so it went off, and a day later it came back on.. so i think my only option is to buy the converter my car is supposed to have on it.. damn it, thanks for the hellp tho man.
