Left over cash...What to do?

Hi guys

Well I've done a good job at saving up my money this year so I can splurge on the lude. I've saved up about 3 thou for an engine rebuild, 2 for a paintjob and have around another 1.5 to mess with.

For the longest time, I've thought about dropping it with some nice toxico's and Ground Controls as well as a Camber kit. Lately though I've been thinking that I could do Sooo much more if I used that for several other mods. What would you guys have in mind. By the way my car is completly stock exept for rims and i'm not investing more into performance. I really would like to know esthetically what upgrades do you guys recommend to spend on.

Re: Left over cash...What to do?

lower the lude, IMO. seriously, it does make a world of difference. get a good shock/spring setup and you wont lose ride quality. If you invest in some sway bars too, you can really increase your handling.

Re: Left over cash...What to do?

+1 put it into your suspension. the first fast turn you take after lowering your car you'll fall in love with your car allll over again.

you could either get a sickkkk set of tein coilovers, or a not too shabby set of coilovers or spring/shock combo and have money left over for sway/strut bars.

Re: Left over cash...What to do?

I'd drop the lude on coilovers, or save the money for a rainy day. Especially after you swap the motor, its nice to have extra money there to play with in case you need it.

Re: Left over cash...What to do?

no no the 1.5 is extra I still got some backup.

None of you think investing the 1.5 into replacing weather strips, lip kit, tints, fogs, catback system in total would be better than just suspension? If you say it's that good I have no choice but to beleive you guys its my first car so I don't know how it feels yet.

Well then yes, I'd put all the money into suspension.

Function > Form (IMO)

The work getting done to my car is in this order

Motor > Suspension > Exterior > Interior

Re: Left over cash...What to do?

i would buy a good exhaust and then put the rest in the suspension. just do your research and figure out what you want/need/expect and decide from there.

buy my teins! LOL! i got tein basic damper coilovers, selling them for 400 + shipping.

either way i say a good drop would make a big difference in looks and handling with a nice suspension setup

Re: Left over cash...What to do?

Well I was told by a friend to go with Toxico illumnas and some Ground Controls because they were the best for the price and performance. I was also told Koni's were excellent but I rather not spend the additional 300 bucks because its solely for road use. Are those Teins going to do the same thing?

Re: Left over cash...What to do?

this is my setup now " Ground Control Coilovers with Eibach Springs
KYB AGX Adjustable Dampening Gas Shocks"

i would be selling my old setup for over 600 + shipping, but if you were to buy my setup one strut has to be fixed by tein thats why im just asking for 400.

My old setup has less then 4k on them, i basically just bought them last year.

As for the tokico illumnas, those have adjustable dampening.
My setup doesn't, just adjustable spring ride height.

Re: Left over cash...What to do?

Get some GC and some koni yellows/tokico illumnas, you will be happy with the ride. Teins are going to cost you more to have the same ride.
